YEPPP....Bella!!!The original "brick and mortar" location of the Pink Funny Farm!  I want to thank Meryl Schoenbaum at Romantic Homes Magazine, for the article that she wrote.  Meryl, not only is it exciting to be featured in the "Shopkeeping" article, but it was a ton of fun working with you.  I hope that we can work on some more of the projects that we spoke about in the future as well!  And, I have to send a warm shout out to Donna Norris, at Romantic Homes as well.  We just love Donna, she is THE BEST!!!

 

 

So, after being in business for just shy of EIGHT years, Bella is finally being recognized in a REALLY BIG way!!

 

 

The new September issue should be on the shelves of your favorites stores and book stores on about August 9th or 10th!

Welp...I hope that the photos were worth the wait!

 

 

Remember this area?  It used to be Aqua, and all of the body products were in here.

 

 

 

The best selling cupcakes have been the Banana with Cream Cheese Frosting:

 

 

 

A close second, has been the Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting:

 

 

 

Of course, my personal favorite....is the Chocolate with Vintage Pale Pink Vanilla Buttercream Frosting!!!

Although they look pretty and yummy....the taste is MOST important at The Cupcake Cafe!  They are baked from scratch with the finest ingredients everyday, right at the shop, in the new custom kitchen.

That being said, they had to have a most perfect display case.

 

 

This is an old french door that I've had and, thought would be perfect.  So, I downloaded my thoughts and ideas into my dad's head...(poor guy)...and he built the PERFECT display case!  Thanks Dad!  Don't let the parental thanks stop there though...Mom has helped out in the shop more in the last 2 weeks than in the last 7 years put together.  Not that she doesn't help, but she would generally rather help out with my daughter Shawna so that she is always in good hands while I'm at work.  Thanks Mom!

A home-made chandelier lights up the front corner. 

 

 

 

Another old window made the perfect valance for the burlap drapes.  They were so easy thanks to my Sealah Tape by JoDees....girlfriend, Kay Ellen's mother.  I use it all of the time and it is THE Best!!!

 

 

 

A chalk board is going to be the menu board that lists daily specials.  The old black unit stores everything from boxes to cups and anything else that may be needed.

 

 

 

It also holds the espresso machine that will be up and serving specialty coffee drinks as soon as I can master them!  I have NEVER, EVER drank coffee in all of my life....I mean NEVER!!!  Until now, that is.  Between the need to educate myself in "Coffee 101" and getting up SO early to make the cupcakes, me becoming a coffee junkie has become inevitable!!!

 

 

 

Ahhh, I musn't forget a picture of the tree!  All decked out in pink feathers and little fake cupcakes that where made especially for the tree this year.

Well, since this IS the second time that I have posted this, due to a "glitch"  when I hit the Publish button the last time...and my entire post disappeared!!!...I better make it short as it is 1:30am here!

 

This would be a perfect time to thank all of my customers, from far and near, that have already been in to enjoy cupcakes.  I appreciate your continued support through these tough times.  It is also a great time to tell eveybody that hasn't been in, to get to Bella and check it out!!!

I CANNOT.....CANNOT, believe that we are STILL not ready to open the Cupcake Cafe yet!!!

But, we sure look good, huh?!

I am very sorry to say that we won't be ready to open for a bit yet.  Some things just cannot be controlled, and especially "people" cannot be controlled!!!

That being said, I have tried, and tried, and have even enlisted the assistance of Tammy's husband to try to send an email to everyone in our address book.  However, me being so computer savvy and all...I STILL, and even HE can't send the stupid email to inform everybody that we're planning on having a Grand Opening on Friday, December 3rd, from 5-9pm.

I will be posting pictures of the new cafe very soon.  We are so excited!

I just wanted to let everyone know that we're about two weeks out yet on the opening day for the Cupcake Cafe.  I've been sidelined twice now for little medical deals!  All is on track and we're hoping to have our Open House on Friday November 19th.  If you would like an invite, please send us your email address.

The Urban Barn

Okay everybody, now I remember why I haven't been posting as much...its that d@#%  hyper blinking cursor problem!!!! STILL!!!  After every other photo uploaded, my computer freezes.  This is somewhat workable, since "Typepad" is so very kind enough to actually save my work as I go....HOWEVER, apparently, after so many "freeze-jobs" it decided NOT to save it the last time.  Thank you so very much Typepad! 

 

So, I will attempt to put as much as I can in and then, I guess..."publish" it and then "re-publish" additional photos...???

We went to the Urban Barn!  It was amazing!  Talent to NO end!  Hotter than Heck!  We left the heat of Havasu, only to enter the humidity of the coast and record breaking temperatures.  However, since we went about TWO months ago, and I'm just now blogging about it, I'm sure that the temperatures are lovely by now.  Here we go:

The lovely Linda was at her best!  Calm, cool and collected like I've never seen her before.

First, we ran into Rita...everything she touches turns into something wonderful...so much talent!

Next, right next to her, was Tricia.  She is so cute and we rarely get to see her even though she's right in our backyard...well, she's in this desert state of our's anyway.

Found our way to Joy!  She had soo many darling things...where DOES she find the time?!

Fabulous Sherry somehow managed to stay cool even with that "Haute" hat!

And then...there's Mary!  She's so very talented, sweet and always brings a smile to everyone with her hysterical personality!

Ok! so, after this last battle with the cursor...I QUIT!!!  I will try to add more in the edit mode, as I am afraid that I'm going to lose everything again.

Annie & Sully

Just thought I'd do a quick post to tell everybody that our web sight is back up and running....not sure what happened..us being so tech-ie and all!  If anybody tried to order anything and was frustrated, we've put in a new coupon code "OOOPS" for 15 % off of your on-line purchase at The Pink Funny Farm! 

I also wanted to share two new members of our family!

We now have Sully:

This is our new Velveteen bunny!  We rescued him from the humane society...so there weren't a lot of choices....actually, there where no other choices.  Victoria called us the very moment that a bunny came in, as we would only adopt from the shelter.  There are so many wonderful animals at animal shelters, please try there first if considering a pet!  When my daughter saw him for the first time, she was a little disappointed....she was expecting a "little bunny" and she felt he was ENORMOUS!!!  When I asked her what she wanted to name him, she replied: "What's that one big blue monster's name on Monsters Inc???"....  I said, do you mean "Sully"....   "YEP!  That's IT!!!....his name will be Sully!!!"  And so there ya have it!

Is he adorable, er what???  I know the pictures are a little blurry...they are off of my Blackberry.

He LOVES cilantro and lettuce!.....and carpet, unfortunately!!!  Oh, and wires and wood furniture too!!!  Oh and Coconut, our little Maltese!

Coconut loved him back...until....Sully tried to mate with Coconut...did I mention that he is a boy also???!!! he he he...so then we had him fixed!

Our other new member is Annie!  She is my daughter's new best friend...in the animal world, that is.

I have NEVER seen my daughter SO happy!!!

But....the stupid hyper cursor has struck yet again!!!

Seems as though the other photo won't load!  Is it just me, or does this happen to other Typepad users?

Again, I will publish this, and try to stick one more photo in after that so that I don't lose my entire post!

HA!!  I beat the "Cursor Curse" yet again!!!

Wedding

Ok, so I have now switched form yellow lights to Typepad cursor problems!!!  I have been working on a post for over a week now and it seems as though almost every time I insert a photo, the cursor starts blinking in a hyper state and my program freezes up.  Well, as annoying as it was, I was entering a photo then shutting my computer off...then when I opened everything back up, my draft was saved........until, OF COURSE, the LAST photo and everything disappeared for good!  Good Grief!!!  Like I have time to do everything not only the long and difficult way, BUT TWICE!!!  So, here goes:

This is why we haven't posted much lately.  We've been very busy planning and decorating for Justin (Tammy's son) and Sammie Jo's wedding.  Isn't it hard to believe that they are in the middle of the desert?!

They were married here, in Lake Havasu, right next to the London Bridge.

The reception was held at Shugrues in the Bridgeview room.  So far, so good...on the hyper cursor curse!!!

A few of these photos are for girlfriend Sonia from Rancho Cucamonga!!!  She wanted to see the balls.  These two were covered in white roses....pictures just don't so them justice.

The ceremony was just outside on the patio, which is where all of the white slip covered chairs are.

We did cupcake stands for the centerpieces and dessert!  

This was my personal favorite part of the wedding!!!

 

Of course, every wedding has its little story of tragedy...

I was just heartbroken when I happened upon this!  You can only imagine after having had a few drinks, the sadness that it brought me.

  

OK....SO it STARTED AGAIN!!!  Apparently, Typepad doesn't want to upload the picture of the bride's flowers!  Well that stinks, but I cannot afford to take any more chances after being shut down THREE times on the same picture.  So off we go....

This is Tammy Faye's husband Mike, son Justin and new daughter Sammie Jo....and Tammy Faye, of course!

A good time was had by all!!!

Okay!  So, now I'm going to hit publish and then try one more time for the flowers!  So bye for now!

Pefection

Not too often, will I declare something to be perfect....unless, of course, its food....BUT, this has to be the cutest, most perfect gargoyle ever!

On Saturday, my youngest daughter came to work with me.  She wanted to help though, not just hang out.  So, I let her change all of the burned out light bulbs in the chandeliers.  She started out with a low one, but worked her way up to the highest one in the shop!  She was on the biggest ladder that I have and did a great job!!!

She was the cutest little helper ever.  After changing the bulbs, she wanted to have a seat on the famed "French Chair" up ABOVE the exit!

What a doll!  Thank you for your help Miss Tellulah!!!  You did a Super Duper job....changing bulbs & helping customers!

Speaking of "Perfection"....I decided today, that I too, have a "Perfect" ability.  After much thought, practice, and being late to work more than once...I feel that I am MORE than qualified to declare that I AM TOTALLY PERFECT at hitting YELLOW lights!  Each and every single day...I hit the same stinking lights.  No matter  what time I leave the house, I hit them.  Not red, oh no, but YELLOW!!!  Usually, right as they turn from green to yellow.  Its now almost....almost entertaining.  I hate to even see a green light, because it will surely turn yellow as I approach.  I've long since stopped speeding up for a green light, and have learned to control myself and just give in to it!  Hmph, I wonder what else I might be perfect at....maybe, picking the wrong line at the checkout of a store?  Possibly.  Having to put a new roll of TP on the holder?  Probably.  Mascara everywhere but my lashes?  Most likely.  Spilling food on my outfit every single day?  Nah, ha, that's Tammy Faye...Most definitely!!!

Spring Time has Sprung!!!

We have been getting lots of new spring time product in to get your house all ready for spring!  We have the best of both worlds right now for a very short time....the "winter visitors" are still here and our "summer visitors" are starting to arrive.

These little birdies are one of my favorites that we have ever had.  This one, is in a little nest wedged in a twig branch that can be put in any arrangement.

This one is on its own, but has a nest that goes with the collection behind it.  I love their little quail "Doo-flippies" on top of their heads.

Here is the whole family!  I just love them....they have the best details.  Notice that the mama birdie has the best doo-flippie!!!

Of course, my favorite is the "One Cocktail Away" .....too bad they couldn't combine it with the "Too Young" one.  Although, at this point, I would say: too old to give a rat's a@#!!!!!

With THAT being said, I guess that with age, I've also learned this "snappy" little quote as well!  They are the really cool re-usable grocery totes to save on plastic and paper products.  Gee, had I known then, what I know now....too bad for me....lucky thing for her!!!!

On a lighter note, since it IS Sunday!  These little glass dishes with matching votive holders make a perfect little gift.

Thats it for now....we're VERY busy planning for the wedding!!!  My girls are with their father this week for spring break, SO....I am to be catching up on everything.  More later this week!  Have a great week everybody.
